Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Papi AI ("we", "our", "Papi AI") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Papi AI mobile application and related services (the "Service"). Papi AI is operated by Hummus Development LLC, a Virginia limited liability company.

1. Information We Collect

• Anonymous device identifier. On first launch the app generates a random device ID (e.g. papi_{timestamp}_{random}) and stores it locally. We send this ID with API requests so your match threads and chat history are tied to your install. We do not link this ID to your real-world identity.
• Profile information you enter. Display name and avatar selection that you provide during onboarding. Stored locally on your device and sent with each request so the AI can address you by name.
• Conversation content. Messages you send to Papi AI, AI replies, and per-match notes. Stored on our servers tied to your device ID so conversations can resume across launches.
• Photos and screenshots you upload. Images you choose to send for AI analysis (dating-app screenshots, profile photos, your photos for coaching). Forwarded to our AI inference provider for processing. We do not retain copies of your uploaded photos after analysis completes.
• Voice recordings. Audio recorded when you tap the microphone is uploaded for transcription. The audio file is processed and discarded; only the transcribed text becomes part of your conversation.
• Technical data. Standard request metadata such as IP address, app version, and device type, used for security, error monitoring, and abuse prevention.

2. What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your email address, phone number, real name, or government identifiers.
• We do not access your contacts, calendar, location, or other apps on your device.
• We do not use third-party advertising trackers, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or behavioral ad networks.
• We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

3. How We Use Information

• Provide AI replies, photo coaching, screenshot analysis, profile review, and translation features.
• Maintain conversation continuity within the app.
• Detect abuse, prevent spam, and protect the Service.
• Diagnose and fix bugs, improve reliability and quality.

4. Service Providers

To deliver the Service we share data with the following processors:

• Groq, Inc. — runs the large language and vision models that generate AI replies. Your messages and uploaded images are sent to Groq for inference. Groq's privacy policy: groq.com/privacy-policy.
• Vercel Inc. — hosts the API. Standard request logs are kept for security and debugging.
• Supabase Inc. — stores conversation history and per-match notes in a PostgreSQL database, US region.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Conversation history and per-match notes persist until you delete them. The app's Reset Everything control (Settings → Reset) wipes local data and is the recommended way to remove your install's data. Server-side records tied to a device ID are removed automatically after extended inactivity. To request server-side deletion at any time, email killersheart33@gmail.com with the device ID shown in Settings.

6. Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR)

If you are a California or EU/UK resident you have the right to (a) know what data we hold associated with your device ID, (b) request deletion, and (c) opt out of any future sale of personal information (we do not sell). Send requests to killersheart33@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

7. Children

Papi AI is rated 17+ and is not directed to anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the associated data.

8. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers uses TLS encryption. Database credentials and API keys are stored as environment secrets, never in client code. We follow industry-standard practices but no system is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or via this page.
